The Life Normal, and other myths

The phrase "get it in gear".....this has been ringing loudly in my mind the past few weeks. I sit and I think...hmm...I have school coming up in which I want to do very well, I need a job badly and I've made an effort to get one but then again I havent spent very much of the day looking....why is that? Oh! Right! It's because I've been getting up mid afternoon. Then I realize that I'm thinking about these types of things usually around 3am. Enjoy my mortal body while you can, Time (gestures of distain). Yes, so I have upcoming events which will require my attention, a focused, conscient, present attention with BOTH eyelids open. Oh and then theres that one thing I have going on, with that girl, who exists....yes very much happy am I right now but things can only stay that way if I dont stay this way. Get to sleep on time, man! It's the easiest job in the world!

But there's oh so much to think about......so much to do.......(guitar bats its eyelashes seductively in the blogger's direction).......(rereads one of many emails from that girl who exists).....(warcraft, the bane of men ages 12 to 44)

Well, this is a lesson, may I learn from it and move on. I was recently in a discussion involving tofu and what I came do decide about it is this: as long as the Fu stays in its place and goes not encroach upon the territory held by my friends Meat and Delicious Things That Are Bad For You then the Fu and I may coexist peacefully, heck, I might even like it. This next part only one person is going to get so the rest of you just skip ahead.

Fu-cake. (N) a recent tradition involving expensive cakes, tofu, a quick jab of the hand, and a general commotion in the aftermath. Signs of a recent fu-caking include faces reddened from scrubbing and eyes atwinkle with rampant mischief.

I was recently admiring the shape of fruit and it made me think about the joys of misshapen organic things. The thought came about while shopping for nectarines and suddenly I looked at them as though each one respresented somebody. Some were normal, some were lopsided, some were rounded, some had weird coloring in them. Yes I was imagining looking at small human heads. No, I do not engage in shrunken head voodoo or anything of the sort. Possible fu-caking could perhaps change that, I suppose, but it is unlikely. So there I was looking at a bin of humanized nectarines thinking of how great it is that neither fruit nor humans nor cats nor art comes from a factory but from creative hands and how if they did then there would be less need for beautiful words and certainly no little voices chiming in "I want that one, mommy, the cute one!."

Sign of sleep deprivation #431: making philosophical observations about tiny heads while staring at fruit.

Saturday Night Blogs

I made dinner for the first time in oh so long, must say the corn on the cob was pretty decent, even though it had pretty much cooled off by the time the meat was done. The situation is this: I'm on a no-wheat-or-soy-or-dairy-or-anything-good diet and, being as it is day one, i simply cannot take it anymore. Something must give, and it shall give in the form of salad dressing. You can dare me to eat salad with no dressing for the next X number of months, but then dares have never compelled me >:^D. My temporary roomie Isaiah has been coughing out his lungs for the last two days, and no i wont get into a debate with myself as to how long i have until i catch it. So he's on the cough dying and listing a grilled cheese as the sole item of food he has had all day and i'm staring at a carton of rice milk wanting it to die so our conclusion is that we want corn on the cob and meat. We feasted like hungry men, watching Wayne's World 2, which was hardly as epic as the first if its kind.

My list of favorite things in the world has stayed largely the same over the years, but just recently it abruptly acquired a new one, very very high up i might add. This would be laughing together on the phone with my girlfriend. Life is precariously close to becoming something of a TV show, one which we sit back and watch and laugh and make comments about, or so it feels to me and if it literally becomes that, well, you wont find any complaints in this region of the world.

What am i doing in this region of the world anyway?????? Focus, focus.......

To dig! Yeeeees thats it, to dig, to search. I love searching, and I would like to say that it's mostly because I love finding, but really, half the things we find would be worth half as much and twice as quickly forgotten were it not for the search. A plan, they tell me, a plan. Well, I suppose my plan is to find one. This is, I think, rather impressive progress in today's society. I have a feeling that in the tunnels and byways of ye olde college career i will find those who can point me in more of, as some call it, a direction. I have this little inkling about secrets of Celtic missions and just how much of the world they saw....hmmmm more on that to come later. Most of what my plan entails is trusting God, as all the good things that happened to me make me walk to Him and all the bad ones made me run. One particularly good one was completely His doing, and i have as proof the out of body experience i went through while initiating the whole deal. I suppose i feel much like the child who walks into the store and points to the trinket on the highest shelf and says "I want that one, Daddy!" because there's nooooo way i can reach that high. And in the end Daddy got me my trinket , just as the trinket had planned. (roll credits and ride into the sunset).

More i could say, mmmmm? But, say it later, i will. I think i'll leave it on that last note, as i particularly like drifting off into surreal dreams of fairytales that actually happened.... ;^)
